January 6th And The National Guard Inquiry From President Trump

I ran across an inquiry regarding whether or not President Trump requested the National Guard for Jan 6th. The short answer is NO for him directly, but his Cabinet did request the National Guard on multiple occasions days before the event took place.

I answered the inquiry with actual documents, that was then deleted by the forum moderator. So I am putting them here so I don’t lose the information.

Document #1 – Letter from Washington, DC Mayor Bowser

Violence was expected… however, the DC National Guard was to have no weapons and could not conduct surveillance, searches, or seizures of US persons. That’s in the second paragraph.

Why would you expect trouble, but not arm the enforcers so they can stop the trouble? …unless some of the designed troublemakers among the crowd could have been apprehended.

I would think this question needs to be asked.

It makes sense that Bowser denied any further troops because they would not be on board with the plan to do nothing about the trouble that would happen.

Document #2 – Letter from Washington, DC Mayor Bowser

This is basically a letter of denial to the President’s Cabinet to no further National Guard personnel would be needed. See the last paragraph.

Document #3 – This is a timeline of events from the U.S. Capitol Police that documents events from December 16, 2020 through January 6, 2021. In the final tactical plans, there is no mention of the National Guard – even though inquiries were made earlier in the timeline.
