Travel Ban Now in Effect for the U.S., Fiances Added to the List

2017/06/30 – Trump administration says ‘I do’ to adding fiances to travel ban exemptions – Fox News

The Trump administration has apparently altered its definition of a “bona fide” relationship, adding fiancés of people in the U.S. to its list of people who are exempt from its travel ban from six mainly Muslim nations.

The guidelines sent to U.S. embassies and consulates on Wednesday said applicants from the six countries must prove a relationship with a parent, spouse, child, adult son or daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law or sibling in the U.S.

Man Arrested Who Threatened To Kill Lawmaker

2017/06/27 – Man accused of threatening lawmaker on Facebook says he was ‘fed up’ with Republicans – Miami Herald

Two weeks after a U.S. congressman and four others were shot during a baseball practice in a Washington suburb by a man with a history of lashing out at Republicans, a Florida lawmaker decided he wasn’t taking any chances.

So Sunday, after someone threatened his life on a Facebook page, state Rep. Jose Felix Diaz, R-Miami, informed police.

And on Monday, Northwest Miami-Dade resident Steve St. Felix, 34, was arrested and charged with written threats with intent to do bodily injury. Police said St. Felix was “fed up” with the Republican Party — and that he hadn’t taken his meds when he posted the threat. It’s unclear what condition the medications were treating.

Preemptive measures…

Blaming Violence on Speech

2017/06/28 – The Atlantic’s Editor In Chief: Trump Is Going To Be Responsible for Violence Against Journalists – NTK Network

The Atlantic’s Editor In Chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, on Wednesday said that he suspects that someone who listens to President Trump will see journalists as enemies of the state and carry out a violent attack against them. He said Trump would be responsible for such an attack.

“Well, part of my reaction is that we’re are all engaged in a reality TV show. That this is a reality TV version of a war between the president and the press,” Goldberg said.

“The problem is, and this is what I worry about more than anything else, is that there are people in the country who don’t understand that this a cynical reality TV game,” Goldberg concluded. “And are going to hear over and over again from the president that the reporters, journalists are enemies of the state…and someone is going to do something violent against journalists in a large way, and then I know where the fault lies.

Under this same reasoning, why is not Rachel Maddow to blame for Hodgkinson’s attempted assassination attempt of U.S. House members?

Maddow was his favorite show. She constantly harps on how Trump is a danger to the country. Somehow she escaped scrutiny for being the motivation for Hodgkinson to kill Congressmen.

The same for the Pizzagate shooter. Apparently, the Pizzagate situation that he read about online motivated him to take action against Comet Pizza – and blame was given to fake news, InfoWars, Breitbart, etc.

Maddow should be getting some heat for her dangerous rhetoric. CNN as well.

—————————

I am just noting the inconsistency of how blame is applied.

Ultimately people are responsible for their own actions. This whole blame thing is just an opportunity to harm political enemies in some way, shape, or form… which is why they are ready to blame Trump and conservative media, but don’t blame Maddow.

EPA Chief Cuts $900K of Gym Memberships

2017/06/20 – EPA scraps $1 million in gym memberships for employees – Washington Examiner

The Environmental Protection Agency is scrapping the agency’s nearly $1 million in gym memberships as an abuse of taxpayer funds.

EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt vowed to get rid of the gym memberships after the newspaper reported earlier this year that the agency had paid $15,000 per year for employees in Las Vegas to upgrade to premium fitness memberships at 24 Hour Fitness. This was done even though the employees already had complimentary gym memberships at the University of Nevada’s campus in Las Vegas.

This is the common sense stuff that got Trump elected.

2017-06-14 – Emergency drones rush life-saving help to simulated cardiac arrest cases – Ars Technica

Reenacting 18 real-life emergency calls of cardiac arrest to emergency medical services in Norrtälje, Sweden, researchers dispatched a drone carrying an automated external defibrillator (AED) from the local fire station. The drone reached the site of the emergency in around five minutes—about 16 minutes faster than emergency medical responders—researchers report Tuesday in JAMA.

Good stuff…

2017/06/14 – Virginia shooting: House majority whip shot at congressional baseball practice – Guardian Live Updates

Congressman Mo Brooks is giving a remarkable eyewitness interview on CNN.

Of the shooter he said:

I don’t know if he was killed but I tell you I don’t have any kind thoughts about the shooter so let’s leave it at that.

He appeared to be a white male. But bear in mind I saw him for just a second or two, a fraction of a second.

If I had to guess, middle aged … he wasn’t skinny, but he did not appear to be obese either.

Describing the situation, Brooks said:

You’re pretty helpless. It’s not a good situation to be in. I don’t know what took our security detail as long as it took them to start exchanging fire … It seemed like a long time but it might have been seconds … They exhibited tremendous bravery.

I got a glimpse of the shooter which meant he also could see me if he looked in my direction. At that point I ran around home plate.

There were probably 10, 20, 30 shots fired while two or three of us were seeking cover.

At least five people were hit with bullets.

“As I was getting into the car with one of my colleagues, Jeff Duncan, there was a guy who walked up to us and asked if it was Republicans or Democrats out there. And it was just a little odd and then he kind of walked toward the area where all this happened,” the Florida Republican said on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends.”

Trump Looking At Big Cuts in Government Energy Renewables

2017/06/08 – Trump’s renewable energy cuts alarm former officials – CNN Money

Trump wants to gut a key division of the Department of Energy designed to accelerate the development of clean energy like solar and wind power. The administration’s 2018 budget would slash funding for the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy by a stunning 71.9%.

Budget documents published by the DOE argue that the spending cuts to the renewables office will focus resources on early-stage research & development. The DOE added that it also “reflects an increased reliance on the private sector to fund later-stage research, development and commercialization of energy technologies.”

Czech Republic Refuses Refugees, EU Considers Penalty

2017/6/05 – Czechs halt taking migrants from Italy, Greece under EU relocation scheme – Reuters

The Czech Republic will halt taking in migrants under an EU scheme to share asylum seekers who arrived in Greece and Italy, citing security concerns, the government agreed on Monday.

Under a plan agreed in 2015, the European Commission wants EU member states to each admit a quota from a total of 160,000 asylum seekers stuck in the two Mediterranean countries. Most have fled conflicts and poverty in the Middle East and Africa.

But several EU members including the Czech Republic have protested the decision and some have refused to take in any people under the scheme.

“Due to the aggravated security situation and the dysfunctionality of the whole system, the government approved… a proposal to halt this system for the Czech Republic,” Chovanec told a news conference following a cabinet meeting.

Transcript: James Comey Senate Hearing

James Comey Hearing: Full Transcript of Ex-FBI Chief’s Testimony

Cliff Notes…

  • Trump was never under investigation per Comey.
  • Loretta Lynch influenced wording that Comey used with regards to Hilary Clinton’s email controversy.
  • Regarding the conversation between Trump and Comey. He felt something was wrong, but did not tell the Attorney General – but did give his notes to a friend at the Columbia Law School (Daniel Richman) to leak to the press. He never took notes about his conversation with Loretta Lynch.
  • Trump “hoped” Flynn would be cleared, which does not violate the law.
  • Comey agreed that the three things Trump requested were (per Rubio) – number one, be loyal; number two, let the Mike Flynn thing go, he’s a good guy, he’s been treated unfairly; and, number three, can you please tell the American people what these leaders in Congress already know, what you already know, what you’ve told me three times — that I’m not under — personally under investigation?
  • The Russians never altered the election per Comey. They tried, but were unsuccessful.
