I ran across this from January 2015. (from Instapundit)
in 1989, Ayatollah Khomeini declared a death sentence on an author, and the comedians had a bunch of laughs with that.
But in the 26 years since Khomeini’s fatwa was announced, the laughs have withered away. As its engagement with the Muslim world deepens, the West – Australian satirists no exception – has come to understand that Islam is no laughing matter.
The article continues on and mentions this about a character of the Simpson from 2008.
One such character is Bart’s friend Bashir bin Laden, who debuted in 2008. As the Simpsons Wiki puts it: “Bashir is very polite and gentle and always minds his manners. He also seems to be very smart. Bashir never complains in front of people or even behind their backs. He is also very insecure of what people say about him.”
The mention of insecurity is very interesting. However, Islam says this.
Khomeini himself put it this way: “Allah did not create man so that he could have fun. The aim of creation was for mankind to be put to the test through hardship and prayer. An Islamic regime must be serious in every field. There are no jokes in Islam. There is no humor in Islam. There is no fun in Islam. There can be no fun and joy in whatever is serious.”
So is it that Islam is no fun, or is it no fun at all in any instance? Or they just do not want to be the butt of the jokes? One thing for sure, their response to murder people for having is wrong.
